Nothing More

September 7th 2018
Xfinity Theatre
Hartford, CT

Nothing More surprised myself and the two other photographers on site access to shoot the entire show. I had never seen or for that matter heard of Nothing More prior to this show (sure, go right ahead and ask what rock I’ve been living under). After being able to shoot their entire set and feel the energy they exuded, I’M A FAN! I don’t get hooked on new artists often, but WOW. These guys are epic and they were super interactive with me allowing me to capture some amazing images as you’ll see below.

As a photographer one of the sad truths you learn when you first start out doing concert photography is that you only get to shoot the first three songs of each artists sets. However, you are able to go enjoy the remainder of their set AFTER you put your gear away. UNLESS of course you know the artist or have been asked by the Artist’s Management to shoot the event. BUT, that was not the case with Nothing More.

If you haven’t had the pleasure of hearing Nothing More yet, do it. If you get the chance to see them CHECK THEM OUT! The Truth Tour 2019 kicks off in February with Of Mice & Men, Badflower and Palisades. See the bottom of this page for all the 2019 dates of the tour.

Employing a powerful blend of twisty progressive rock, explosive heavy metal, and soaring, radio-ready alt-rock, hard-hitting, forward-thinking San Antonio-based quartet Nothing More invokes names like System of a Down30 Seconds to MarsIncubusMars Volta, and Killswitch Engage. Formed around the talents of longtime friends Jonny HawkinsDaniel OliverMark Vollelunga, and Paul O’Brien, the band spent years honing their sound and skills, and sharpening their worldview on the road, adopting a strict D.I.Y. ethic and issuing their music independently. In 2013 they inked a deal with the Eleven Seven Music Group, the home of acts like Drowning PoolSixx:A.M.Papa Roach, and Hellyeah, and released their eponymous debut for the label, along with the fiery first single “This Is the Time (Ballast),” the following year. It proved to be a breakout release for the veteran band, charting well and introducing them to a much wider audience. Led by the single “Go to War,” Nothing More returned with their follow-up, The Stories We Tell Ourselves, in September 2017.
