Nothing More

The #ɥʇnɹʇ Tour
March 11th / 12th 2019
The Webster / The House of Blues
Hartford, CT / Boston, MA

I had the pleasure of joining Nothing More for two of their New England dates on The Truth Tour earlier this month. It’s always a pleasure to work with these guys, they put on one hell of a show and have a stage presence that I haven’t seen in a VERY long time. I had the pleasure of shooting Nothing More this past summer as they and Bad Wolves opened up for Breaking Benjamin and Five Finger Death Punch on their co-headline “AND JUSTICE FOR NONE” summer tour.

To top it all off, I pulled a few strings and I was able to bring my 13 year old Son with me to both shows. He has only been to one other show in his life, Dan Russell with Marc Powell and The Family Reunion Tour last year but he has never been to a full production show at a major venue. Add to that, Nothing More happens to be his favorite band since he heard me playing them as I was editing my photos last summer. I didn’t tell him until the afternoon of the show that he was going with me. He almost died when I told him!

It was one of those proud Dad moments being able to bring him with me, but the kindness and way the band and crew treated him was above and beyond. I’m pretty sure I’ve ruined concerts forever for him. He got to shoot some photos himself of the band in Hartford and in Boston he was asked to come on stage and watch the show from Monitor World. The band and crew even asked him to join in on the pre-show chant. To say he was excited is an understatement.

I will be forever grateful to everyone who helped him have the time of his life, words can not explain lucky I am and how proud I am of this little guy!

My Son was super excited that he got to meet the band!

Employing a powerful blend of twisty progressive rock, explosive heavy metal, and soaring, radio-ready alt-rock, hard-hitting, forward-thinking San Antonio-based quartet Nothing More invokes names like System of a Down30 Seconds to MarsIncubusMars Volta, and Killswitch Engage. Formed around the talents of longtime friends Jonny HawkinsDaniel OliverMark Vollelunga, and Paul O’Brien, the band spent years honing their sound and skills, and sharpening their worldview on the road, adopting a strict D.I.Y. ethic and issuing their music independently. In 2013 they inked a deal with the Eleven Seven Music Group, the home of acts like Drowning PoolSixx:A.M.Papa Roach, and Hellyeah, and released their eponymous debut for the label, along with the fiery first single “This Is the Time (Ballast),” the following year. It proved to be a breakout release for the veteran band, charting well and introducing them to a much wider audience. Led by the single “Go to War,” Nothing More returned with their follow-up, The Stories We Tell Ourselves, in September 2017.
